Prudent Open Space acquisition, together with commercial economic development has contributed to maintaining Orange as a desirable community in which to live and work. Acquisitions like Ewen Farm, Orange Fairground, and the Hubbell property have helped to maintain Orange’s rural climate that we all love and helps to keep Orange green. Sound fiscal policy and planning by Jim Zeoli and our Republican majority on the Board of Finance has earned Orange a AAA bond rating, enabling us to bond these and other needed purchases at beneficial rates.

The Preserve at Turkey Hill

In 2011, the voters of Orange overwhelmingly voted to purchase approximately 376 acres of open space from the Hubbell Corporation. This land acquisition represents a responsible policy of preserving our rural character while preventing costly over-development. The parking access across from Turkey Hill Road has been constructed and the public can enjoy this beautiful piece of property.
